SQL Browser (Version 1, outdated)
The SQL Browser loads SQLite databases and lets you run SQL queries against them.
The SQL Browser cannot create a database. Use a tool such as DB Browser for SQLite for that purpose.
Using the browser
Tabs let you open several databases at the same time. Each tab contains three widgets: the SQL query input, the query results and the database schema.
Supported databases
Choose a database from the supplied collection or upload a file. Two formats are supported:
| Format | File extension | Description |
|---|---|---|
| SQL script | .sql |
A text file containing an SQL script with statements such as CREATE TABLE .... The database system must be SQLite. |
| SQLite database | .sqlite, .sqlite3, .db, .db3, .s3db, .sl3 |
A database in the official SQLite file format. These files are binary and cannot be opened in a text editor. |
You can create databases with DB Browser for SQLite, for example. An LLM such as ChatGPT can also help generate useful SQL scripts.
